After this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the three fundamental feelings that anger protects us from feeling.
  • Describe and understand the evolutionary purposes of anger.
  • Detect when and how to intervene when there's anger in the office.
  • Identify your own childhood scripts regarding anger.

Grief: Your Brain on Sadness

Grief is an experience that all of us and all of our clients will experience at some time in our lives. This webinar will explore the variety of ways we go through the process of grief including looking through the lenses of our neurobiology, our physical bodies, our emotions and our relationships. We will also explore meditations to help with grieving.

In this interactive webinar, we'll examine stages of grief and how to navigate them and learn about what happens in our brains when we experience loss. Participants will learn how to recognize when clients might be getting "stuck" in their grieving process and how to help when partners in a relationship grieve differently.

After this webinar, participants will be able to

  • Define 4 paths to the other side of grief according to Coleman and how to help clients through them.
  • Describe the 5 stages of loss according to Kubler-Ross.
  • Differentiate healthy grieving and when clients get stuck.
  • Identify an appropriate meditation for those who are grieving

This webinar will be presented online via Zoom and is intended for therapists in general at the intermediate level.

Continuing Education (CE) credits are NOT available for this webinar.
