I have personal experience of the transformative power of Imago Relationship Therapy. Married for over 21 years, we sought therapy after 10 years of marriage. I'm lucky our relationship was functional and respectful but our conflict was silent and the distance between us felt like a giant canyon. Parenting was the prompt that took us to therapy. Our experience transformed our understanding of each other and our marriage has gained in strength year over year.
There is an understanding that our suffering and greatest hurt occurs in relationship. We cannot always effect what happens to us, and we are often at the mercy of our relationships and how we are seen, heard and held in support by others. I believe that we have the greatest capacity to heal in relationship. Our partners, our parents, our friends, our children, our colleagues or our team-mates all hold up a mirror to different versions of who we believe ourselves to be.
I have been working with couples and individuals using the Imago process since 2017, and I've worked in mind-body therapies since 2000 with experience in guiding couples through major life transitions from welcoming new family members, caring for elderly parents, hospice, cancer diagnosis and treatment and conscious parenting. In addition to Imago, my therapeutic style is informed by trauma-sensitive yoga, mindfulness and body work. My intention is to be fully present with your unique needs and goals and to help you to resolve conflict, improve communication and create space for sparks of joyfulness in your relationships.
I offer remote therapy online or by phone.
